Diplomacy in the Age Motion
Montenegro will host the XIX edition of the Summer School for Young Diplomats “Gavro Vuković” from 21 to 26 June. Held under the theme “From Rules to Reality – Diplomacy in the Age of Motion”, this global forum of future leaders in foreign and security affairs will bring together young diplomats, policymakers, scholars, and experts to discuss the evolving role of diplomacy in a rapidly changing international environment marked by geopolitical shifts, emerging security challenges, technological advances, and the growing complexity of global affairs.
This year’s edition carries particular significance as it takes place in the year when Montenegro marks the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its independence. This milestone provides an important opportunity to reflect on Montenegro’s diplomatic journey over the past two decades, its contribution to regional and international cooperation, and its commitment to dialogue, multilateralism, and peace.
Over nearly two decades, the Summer School “Gavro Vuković” is established as a distinguished international platform for dialogue and professional exchange, bringing together 860 young diplomats from 98 countries worldwide and creating a vibrant network of more than 1,000 professionals in international relations, diplomacy, security, academia, and public policy. Through this growing community, this diplomatic forum continues to foster lasting professional connections, encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, and promote mutual understanding among future leaders in foreign and security affairs.
Today, the Summer School remains one of Montenegro’s most globally recognized diplomatic initiatives, contributing to international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices among new generations of diplomats and policymakers.
